Lubeck Community Baptist Church
Dear Church Family,
April is a very special month this year. Christians around the world celebrate Easter on April TH--"Up from the grave He arose...." You know the words to the song. Happy, uplifting, promising, hopeful and for this we are thankful.
But before He arose-before He died-we hear Him cry out these words, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me." Matthew 27:46.
Jesus was quoting Psalms 21:1 when David cried out while enduring a great trial. Even on the cross Jesus was still reaching out to His people quoting a scripture that they would have recognized. Jesus expressed a deep anguish as He took on the sins of the world, which caused Him to be separated from His Father. The physical agony was no doubt horrible, something that modern day Christians can not even begin to understand. But even worse that the pain was the period of spiritual separation from God. Do we ever ask this same question when we go thought trials in our lives? God is not far away from us. He will never forsake us nor leave us. And Jesus....? He is there sitting at His Father's right hand.
"He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!"
